Along with an extreme passion for music,
Adam has developed a conviction for the
present-day church. Even though he grew
up in the church, he has become aware
that many "Christians" develop
a false perception of the Gospel in which
they simply modify their behavior just
enough to hide sin from others and appear
as "good and wholesome people."
He feels that Christianity has become
less of a genuine relationship with a
genuine Savior and more of a false identity
that allows us to feel good about ourselves
and be held in high regard by others.
Adam echoes this quote from Derek Webb:
"The Gospel has not failed us; we
have just failed to believe it."
This conviction has led Adam to write
songs that encourage audiences to cling
to the Gospel in both its beautiful and
offensive state.
Adam
is pursuing a musical career and is excited
about the opportunities God has provided
for him to share music. Some of the highlights
have included opening up for Derek Webb
(in Birmingham, Florence and Chattanooga)
and Jill Phillips (in Birmingham). He
has also received radio airplay on local
Christian radio station 93.7, WDJC. At
this point, he can't think of anything
else he'd rather be doing than singing
and talking about the change that Christ
alone makes in our lives and our communities.
He says, "I feel like there is so
much more to learn, but my primary objective
is to share what God is teaching me right
now with the people who will listen."
