A Lion Named Roar
Hometown: Louisville, KY
Genre: Pop
Mission Statement:
Chris Jackson & Tyler Anderson of A Lion Named Roar believe music has the power to influence a persons life in dramatic ways. It's important to these two songwriters that they are writing truthful and positive material that can speak to a broad audience of listeners. Not only do they want their songs to influence future generations, but they strive to be a greater influence on their listeners by the way they lead their lives off the stage. The music is heartfelt and truthful - A Lion Named Roar brings pop/folk songs to life by investing sincere emotions into the framework of wholesome and intriguing songwriting. The band wants it's fans to know that we are all family, we all have flaws - - but nothing speaks more than showing love both on and off the stage.

Chris Jackson and Tyler Anderson have been collaborating on songs since they met in high school in 2003. Wandering in and out of several bands, all with their own unique styles, they are no stranger to songwriting and touring. The years of pursuing their dream of playing music are finally paying off, and they're willing to wager their time in return for your feedback; as criticism has never left these Kentuckians stranded. After all, if you are humming the melody of their single ‘Currents' (currently in rotation on WFPK 91.9 Louisville, KY) then they have already grown to recognize a trend. To the founders of A Lion Named Roar, they understand how easy it can be to fall through the trendy cracks of the music industry, but they strive to stand out from the crowd both on and off the stage. Infectious melody and relatable lyrics were the two components they focused on while writing and recording in Nashville, TN with a close friend/engineer/producer in Jeremy Brown. Their songs layout the framework for what pop/folk could sound like, all the while never disappointing the average listener of country music.

On their February release of Said & Done it would prove difficult to pin them into a single genre, as the album is mended together well enough to make you think they have branded their style. With their record perched at the top of best-sellers at local record store giant ear x-tacy, Louisville is quickly turning their attention to the half-witted humor and chic style of the talented duo.
