Ministry
5-lb Test simply wants to minister to people through music. God has given us all talents and gifts. Many (if not all) of them are meant to be used to minister to both the body and the lost. Their objective is to make a joyfull noise unto the Lord while ministering to whoever will listen.

Bio
Clint Jacobs was born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. Coming from a devoutly Christian family full of professional musicians has made him who he is today. He began playing trumpet at age 8 and continued studying it more seriously in high school and throughout college. At the age of 12 Clint discovered his true passion, which was bass guitar. Trumpet is what he studied and bass is what he loved. Clint is a graduate of Birmingham Southern College where he majored in music composition. After college Clint put down the trumpet and made his focus bass guitar and writing. He continued his bass studies with world-renowned bassists Oteil Burbridge while playing professionally around the Southeast. His newest project (5-lb Test) features some of Birmingham’s (as well as the Southeast’s) premier musicians; Chris Fryar (drums), Matt Slocum (keys), and Allen Barlow (guitar). All share the same vision of excellence that they believe God intended us to serve him with. Clint is a member of Crossbridge Church of Christ.

Accomplishments
-
Most of Clint’s notable accomplishments are pretty much all on the secular scene in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. He played in bands that shared the stage with national acts such as Matchbox 20, Kay’s Choice, Vallejo, and The Aquarium Rescue Unit.

- Chris Fryar and Matt Slocum are also regular members of “Oteil and The Peacemakers”, a national jazz/gospel/soul act on the jazz fusion/jam band scene.

- Chris Fryar is an endorser of Pearl drums, Vic Firth sticks and Evans drum heads.
