Mike believes that songs, hymns and spiritual lyrics have tremendous power to keep us focused on God and His Son Jesus Christ. As such, the overall goal of the ministry is to get great, catchy music to as many as possible, that their day would be focused on Christ and what it means to be a Christian.

Bio
Mike Shaw is an award winning Christian singer/songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. He is active in the Music Ministry of Hunter Street Baptist, and travels to churches and festivals all over the southeast.

Mike and his wife Shelley have celebrated 12 years of marriage and have two children, daughter Melodi (8) and son Canon (3).

Mike accepted Christ at age 11 and was baptized at Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham.

Accomplishments
- 2 CDs: "New Songs and Hymn Reconstruction" (2003) and "Song for Our Life" (2007).

- "Song for Our Life" (title track) won the Billboard World Song Contest in 2007 (Christian/Gospel)

- "Belong", originally released as a downloadable single in 2004, won the International Songwriting Competition (Christian/Gospel) and was also named KCCM's song of the year. It has been re-released as part of Mike's latest project.

- "Belong" is currently number 9 on Christian Radio Weekly's Indie Charts. It has been in the top 10 for 6 weeks, topping at #6.

- Mike has opened for musicians such as Michael English, Chris Rice, and Jars of Clay.
