Bio
MustardSeed is a Christian hard rock band
based in Jasper, Alabama. MustardSeed
writes songs that are interlaced with
heavy riffs, progressive arrangements,
beautiful harmony and melody, and most
importantly, lyrical testimonies that
inspire praise and worship of our Heavenly
Father. The band’s live performance
is full of high energy and excitement
for our Lord, making MustardSeed an act
you don’t want to miss.
MustardSeed
began at the end of 2005. Guitarist Jeremy
Lockhart and vocalist Anthony “Doc”
Eddy were leading praise and worship with
keyboardist Gary Lockhart at Freedom Worship
Church in Jasper, Alabama. Within a few
months, Jeremy Lockhart was blessed by
writing about twelve original songs. During
this time, MustardSeed realized that God
wanted more from this group of musicians.
Doc:
“It’s amazing how God works.
I started back singing trying to serve
the Lord with all my heart. I knew the
Lord had a plan for me, but I didn’t
know what kind of plan. Shortly after
MustardSeed started practicing together,
we realized what the Lord was doing. He
had started a ministry.”
Jeremy
knew this was the right direction for
the band.
Jeremy:
“I’ve tried for many years
to write songs, but they always just seemed
silly or incomplete somehow. No matter
how hard I tried, I just couldn’t
create a descent song until I wrote my
first Christian song.”
To
begin the ministry, the band needed a
bassist and a drummer. Through prayer,
God led MustardSeed to the solid rhythm
section of bassist Paul Tucker and drummer
Terry Blankensopp. You could say that
God led the band to the past, because
Jeremy, Paul, and Terry have worked together
in the past in several secular rock bands.
