Relevant, innovative and passionate, these are just a few words that describe Rusty’s ability and desire to communicate the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ to the next generation. When Rusty speaks, his passion for truth is evident in every message. “I don’t want students to hear what I have to say, I want them to hear what God is saying to them. The power of God’s word is relevant to every generation of teenagers. My desire is to communicate truth in a way that enables every student to hear directly from God. I consider it a privilege anytime I am given the opportunity to speak to any student audience.”

Rusty’s experience includes 20 years of being a youth pastor and speaker, growing up with a dad who served in student ministry all of his life, and now he has four teenagers of his own. Rusty’s unique style combines teaching directly from God’s word with life stories, creative drama and media elements and an interpersonal approach to every student audience.

In 2003, Rusty began Rusty’s Resources, Inc. as a speaking and youth ministry resource ministry. Rusty exclusively books his speaking engagements through Indie Community. Rusty is a native and lives in the Birmingham area with his wife Leigh, and their four teenagers Luke, Jake, Nate and Ivy. In his spare time he loves watching science fiction, reading comic books, and is a reality TV fanatic and hopes to someday be a cast member on a challenge-driven reality TV show.

Vision
Rusty’s purpose is “to speak in any venue to challenge students with the life-changing truth of Christ.” Truth is what will transform lives, change hearts and bring people to Jesus. For any student to grow in Christ they must understand God’s word and will for their lives. With every message Rusty will challenge, motivate and teach students what it means to be a follower of Christ.

Innovative
With 18 years of experience in youth ministry, Rusty has spoken on almost any subject to teenagers. He will be glad to develop innovative messages around the theme of your event or retreat.

Recreation
While speaking at your retreat or camp, Rusty can plan and lead team recreation. He has created, designed and field-tested over 60 unique team competitions. He enjoys it because it helps him to bond with your students
