Ministry
SERAPH
has three overriding goals: to write music
filled with Scripture; to engage students
personally, creating an opportunity to encourage
them in their walk with Christ; and, finally,
to passionately worship God and lead people
to a greater understanding of His love.

Bio
SERAPH, an unabashedly Christian band,
was formed in Mobile, AL, in October 2004.
Our musical roots lie in a mixture of
rock, delta blues, newgrass and jazz,
producing a sound reminiscent of The Dave
Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Nickel
Creek, Sister Hazel and Train. Seraph
consists of Brad Hill (26, guitar/vocals),
Joe “Fat Lungs” Langley (27,
harmonica/mandolin/banjo/electric guitar),
Steven Kelley (23, electric guitar/vocals),
Aaron “A.T.” Turner (25, bass),
Anthony Kidd (24, keyboards/ saxophone/programming),
and Tommy Hinton (26, drums/percussion).
SERAPH
originated when Brad and Tommy, who traveled
the Southeast leading worship and performing
original songs together, became interested
in forming a band. They started by approaching
A.T. and Steven, childhood friends of
Tommy, who had attended church and played
music together during high school. Finally
Joe, a college friend, and Anthony were
asked to join the ministry that SERAPH
had already begun. The six gelled immediately
and the band was complete.

Accomplishments
In
the short time that SERAPH has been touring,
they have already played at innumerable
student retreats, Disciple Now weekends,
Super Summer Camps, World Changers projects
and Senior Bowl FCA Rallies, and have also
opened for artists like Shaun Groves and
Jason Morant. SERAPH recorded its debut
album, “Remember When,” in May
2006; it was produced by Jeff Quimby. This
August American Family Radio (AFR), which
has 180 radio stations across 34 states,
added two singles from the album—“More
than Conquerors” and “Near You”—to
its national playlist. Independent Bands.com
just added SERAPH to their line up. |
